Riverwalk’s Community Market Reopens With Shopping, Free Outdoor Music


DOWNTOWN — The Riverwalk’s Local community Market has reopened for the season with merchandise from small community organizations owned by ladies and men and women of coloration.

The Local community Marketplace options 6 vendors providing outfits, artwork, dwelling decor, jewelry and souvenirs, in accordance to a city news release. It is open up together the Riverwalk among Michigan and Wabash avenues. The Riverwalk is open 6 a.m.-11 p.m. day by day, but hrs can vary for vendors in the market.

Returning distributors include things like Chiya Chai, which supplies South Asian delicacies Colores Mexicanos, which provides handmade Mexican art and one-of-a-form embroidered clothes and Neighborly, wherever visitors can buy “modern souvenirs,” according to city officials. 

ChiBoys — a Chicago-themed style line — is new to the group market. Feed Your Head, a lady-owned organization, is also producing its debut as the first vegan concession on the Riverwalk, presenting plant-primarily based sausages, meats and cheeses. 

Wonderful Freddie’s Italian Eatery will also open its initial area in the marketplace to provide pizza by the slice, Italian beef, very hot canine, milkshakes and Italian ice. 

The Riverwalk will also element a 12-7 days musical collection, Seems of the Riverwalk, with no cost performances via early Oct, according to the city. Concerts are 1 p.m. Sundays on the Riverwalk involving Franklin and Lake streets.
